This is the original HopMonk tavern in Sebastopol, in the locally-queried stone power station building from the long-defunct Petaluma and Santa Rosa Railroad. It's been a brewery since 1995, and began its current incarnation in 2008 when the Gordon Biersch folks took over the Sebastopol Brewing Company. The adjacent "Abbey" building is where music events happen.
There was an open mic running in this place back in 2006 when it was still Sebastopol Brewing. Ceni, the current event host, has been running the HopMonk Sebastopol open mic in the Abbey for more than 10 years. First Tuesday of the month is dedicated to folks looking to join or create a band - just mention it when you're onstage and they'll help!

Open Mic signups AT 3PM SHARP via email: ceni@hopmonk.com. Email your name, instrument (guitar/keyboard/bass/etc) and what time you'd like to play. List is usually full by 3:45pm. Newcomers and first-timers get priority, Ceni will respond to you by 5:30pm.

all ages · This is a music-only open mic. We can accommodate bands and yes, we are cover-friendly. Also, although we're fans of it, this is not karaoke. Spoken word is fine but please, for the love of God, no comedy.

Gear:
2 vocal and 2 instrument mics, 1/4" cables, DIs for plugging in instruments directly, an 1/8" AUX input for mp3 players (bring your dongle!) and a friendly, supportive crowd. Amps are welcome but not required.
