Building on the legacy of Santa Rosa’s original vaudeville California Theatre (1923-77), The California opened in September, 2022 with the goal of offering a variety of cultural activities, including live music, comedy, theater, dance, lectures, classes and more in the heart of downtown Santa Rosa. The new event venue, which has flexible bar and cabaret-style seating, is home of resident theater companies Left Edge Theatre and Young Actors Studio (previously in residence at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts from 2015 to 2022).
