R-Place is a music-focused, divey bar with a cavernous dance area and pool tables out the back. Dedicated to live music, the venue has been run by the Browns and has featured live music since it opened in 2011. The new owners have promised not to change a thing when they take the reins in June 2026.

JD Davidson has been running the R-Place jam/open mic twice a week every Thursday and Sunday and will continue to do so as the venue's new owners take over. Singers and musicians are welcome to drop in and play/sing with the house band (drums, guitar, bass) or do their own thing on the house backline if they are an ensemble. JD says that if you are a local act and contact him in advance he can even have you play a half-hour set to open the event.
