Starting 21 July, join the tribe every Tuesday just blocks from the sea
The Pacific Grove Meetinghouse was purchased in 2023 by Scott Soifer, who was a regular at the original venue's open mic event from back in the 90s. Since taking over, Scott has kept the focus on music, remodeled the place, added a baby grand piano and, in March 2026, opened a full bar. That's notable, because Pacific Grove is known as the last dry town in California. While anti-liquor laws were done away with in 1969, it wasn't until 2018 that the first pub opened in Pacific Grove and laws still ban standalone bars in the town. PG Meetinghouse is a gorgeous room: wooden-floors and a high ceiling makes for great acoustics. Embossed burgundy tiles decorate the ceiling, which is framed by white crown molding. Behind the stage is a deep blue and white mural depicting sea creatures bracketed by a tapered stone fireplace just past the piano. PG Meetinghouse is a friendly oasis for live music in a charming neighborhood by the sea.
Founded by Jacqueline Kabat in 2017, Tribe in the Sky has gathered weekly to bring people together as a music collective. Named for their first location (a birthday party at the rooftop bar of Hotel 1110) the gathering has changed venues several times over the years before landing at PG Meetinghouse as of June 30th. After a shifting to Thursdays for a few weeks, the event will move to Tuesdays on 21 July 2026.
