Housed in a 1918 former schoolhouse building, the Mira Theatre has been operating since 1943 and is Vallejo, California’s first and longest running community theatre, owned and operated by Mira Theatre Guild, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Founded by Kyrah Ayers back in 2008, Poetry by the Bay is Vallejo's longest-running spoken word open mic event and has an annual anniversary celebration every August.
